ABOUT BUTUBUTU GROUP
Butubutu Environmental and Engineering Services, llc (BEES), a fully-owned subsidiary of Butubutu Nigeria Ltd. (BBEES), is a water and wastewater management company registered in Nigeria, with operating offices in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria and with headquarters in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Butubutu Environmental Services has wide experience in protecting the water environment and improving water quality through design, development, and delivery of innovative solutions in the area pertaining to floodplain management, erosion and sediment control and stormwater management. As stormwater professionals, we specialize in the improvement of land areas separated and reserved for waterfront development, and in the reduction of the force of water against streambank or shoreline and increasing resistance to erosive forces while promoting a sustainable environment.
OUR WORKS
Some of the work we participated in are as follows:
- Restoration and protection of banks and streams, and excavated channels against scour and erosion using practices such as vegetative plantings, soil bio-engineering, and structural systems
- Construction of jetties and bridges along waterfront
- monitoring of reclamation project
- Monitoring of dredging activities along shorelines
Our philosophy for example in the area of streambank and shoreline protection is to ensure that preference is given to those methods that restore the ecological functions and values of stream or shoreline systems.
Also, we assist governmental environmental agencies with third party plan review, approval and certification for various land development activities including residential; commercial; industrial; and federal and local government. In order to ensure sustainability, we always recommend that in addition to any proposed green infrastructure practices the applicant must employ other control measures that include runoff prevention (e.g., conservation of pervious cover or reforestation), runoff reduction (e.g., infiltration or rainwater harvesting and reuse), and runoff treatment (e.g., plant/soil filter systems or permeable pavement).
We are engaged mostly by federal, sand local government across United States including the District of Columbia, City of Baltimore, Maryland and Kansas City.
Based on our length of experience in providing environmental services, the utility of a continuous workforce capacity building cannot be over emphasized. In order to keep abreast of the cutting-edge information in the erosion and sediment control, floodplain and stormwater management industry, it is mandatory for our environmental technologist and engineers to attend the rigorous training and review courses and obtain professional certification program in our purview which include Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control(CPESC), Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality(CPSWQ), Certified Erosion and sediment Control and Stormwater Inspector(CESSWI), and Certified Professional in Municipal Stormwater Management(CPMSM). This certification program is highly beneficial and we strongly recommend it for our colleagues in Nigeria.
Currently, we are working closely with a renown international organization responsible for the administration and coordination of programs which certify technically and ethically environmental professionals in the area pertaining to the above training program, and our company would be obliged if granted the opportunity to bring this certification program to Lagos, Nigeria.
Our firm also provide professional services in the sewage and wastewater management.
